How to Create Your Own Daily Growth Dashboard
3 Metrics to check daily to ensure your advisory business is growing…
Financial advisory businesses have a lot of lagging indicators that hide actual business fundamentals. Your income might increase because of a big, one-off deposit or 20 new small-policy clients, but lose one client who accounted for 15% of your fees, and you’re suddenly in trouble.
So what are the signals you’re supposed to be tracking to know you're achieving real, healthy growth? Here are 3 to track and check daily…
Panel 1: The Client Conversion Engine
This panel shows the health of your sales pipeline and your funnel velocity. It’s your early warning system for a future revenue dip.
Track:
How many new leads came in yesterday
How many leads still need a first meeting
How long it takes you to convert a lead into a client
This shows you very simply if you’re getting new leads in and how well you’re converting them to clients: Lots of leads, but being behind on 100 first meetings is a problem. This panel helps you spot issues and fix them fast.
Panel 2: The Money Movement Monitor
This panel measures the financial health of your existing client book, flagging immediate retention risks and celebrating the best wins.
Track:
Assets/policies that are due to mature, pay out or expire in the next 3 months
Value of new deposits or premiums received in the last 24 hours
The three biggest deposits/policy signings from last week
This shows you which clients with maturing assets to contact before they move money away. But it also shows new cash in, to show your momentum – and if that’s zero, your sales process is too slow.
Panel 3: The Productivity Scorecard
This panel measures the one thing you can control: your own efforts that drive growth.
Track:
Client meetings completed year-to-date (YTD) versus your goal
The number of administrative tasks that are now overdue
Referral requests made in the last 7 days
This helps you keep track of your own efforts: If your overdue tasks are climbing, you are losing valuable time and risking compliance issues. If your referral requests are low, you are running out of high-quality, zero-cost future leads.
If you can check these three panels in five minutes every morning, you gain instant clarity on where to apply your time for maximum growth impact, every day🫡.

If one metric drops suddenly, which worries you the most?
Conduct a strategic practice audit
Most advisors know where they want their practice to go. Fewer know whether their current book is actually taking them there.
Over time, AUM builds up across living annuities, retirement funds, discretionary investments and endowments, often driven by opportunity rather than intention. Without a clear breakdown, it’s easy to drift into a client and product mix that no longer matches your long-term strategy.

AUM per product gives a clear picture of where your practice is most concentrated, helping you identify opportunities to balance, diversify, or deepen focus areas.
Seed Analytics’ Strategic Practice Audit gives you a clear, visual view of your AUM by product category, showing exactly where your practice is concentrated and where it isn’t. You can quickly see whether your current mix supports growth, risk balance, succession planning, or a shift in focus.
The result?
A data-driven understanding of where your practice stands today, and the clarity to shape where it goes next.
Tool to try
If you want Excel work done without wrestling formulas…
Shortcut lets you build, clean and edit spreadsheets just by describing what you need in plain English. From quick forecasts to tidy client models, it turns “make me a cashflow projection” into a working Excel file in minutes. For advisors who live in spreadsheets but don’t want to spend evenings debugging formulas, it’s a fast way to get usable models without the frustration.
Did You Know? On 24 December 1990, CERN scientists Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau were putting the finishing touches on WorldWideWeb, the network that would later become the internet. They would have it live and ready by Christmas Day.
Happy holidays,
