The Simple 3-Step Workflow to Improve Client Experience

3 Steps to help you turn every client into a happy client…

In financial advice, trust is everything – and client experience (CX) is the ultimate differentiator. But making sure every client has a great experience doesn’t have to be hard or complicated.

You don’t even always have to be able to solve the client’s problem. As Simon Sinek shows in this video, customer experience is more about how you show empathy and connect with a person, making them feel heard, than always giving them what they want.

And, in that spirit, we want to give you a simple way to create positive experiences…

1. Map your ideal client engagement

Before your next meeting, imagine how you want that meeting to go. Write it down like a play: How do you greet them, what do they say, what happens next, etc. The entire conversation. Be as detailed as possible.

2. Now ask what can be improved

Look at your entire “script” and identify the key points where actions need to be taken. Where do they need to take a leap of faith, supply you with documents, make a decision, etc.

Consider all those key moments one by one and ask yourself: How can I make this easier, better or simpler for them?

3. Implement ideas in your next meeting

Don’t sit and wait for the perfect customer or the perfect software or workflow to start trying some of your experience improvement ideas. Try them the next time you see a client.

For example, maybe you think submitting FICA docs via email is troublesome for them, and want to give them a simpler way to submit digitally. If the office can’t supply a method fast enough, try a tool that can do it safely.

The thing is that, as you try new things, you’ll quickly see what works, which allows you to keep adapting and improving your CX workflow. And happy clients are referring clients. 😉

Help your clients see what they really own

When people understand their money, they make better decisions — and value your advice even more.

With Seed Analytics, it becomes incredibly simple for you to give them that clarity. In one clean, branded statement, every client can see exactly what they own across platforms, products and accounts (managed and self-managed) all in one place.

Performance is shown net of every fee, giving them a transparent picture they can trust.

What happens when clients get this level of insight? They become more engaged, more informed, and far more confident in your guidance.

Industry Roundup

2026 Retirement Rulebook Reset. Treasury clarified that death benefits from all three two-pot components are taxed favourably (backdated to Sept 2024), while FSCA Conduct Standard 2 tightens administrative rules on data governance for 2026 compliance.

Governance Demands Fee Transparency. CoFI and FSCA standards require proof of fair value across the five cost buckets. Johann Peens emphasises confusion, not cost, is the real problem advisors must solve in umbrella and standalone funds, using clear, transparent data.

Private Debt Stabilises African Markets. Private debt emerges as a stabiliser as equity cools. Venture Debt expanded 67% YoY, with Southern Africa accounting for 45% of all exits, making it the primary liquidity hub.

The Gold to Gigawatts Theme. Laurium Capital argues the next super-cycle is powered by Electrification and AI, driven by assets that produce, move or store energy, justifying a strategic offshore focus for high-conviction exposure.

Morningstar’s 2026 Global Outlook. Global investing is dominated by AI, yet analysts flag narrow market leadership as a key risk. Depressed SA valuations position the local market as a “hidden gem” for deep value.

Online Tools

Try these to make your work easier

Want warm intros without the awkward outreach? Happenstance scans your extended network and finds the right person when you just describe who you need.

Drowning in to-dos? CoreHour turns your day into simple time blocks so you focus on what matters instead of feeling buried in admin.

Need more client info, but can’t build online forms? xform is a formmaker you can talk to (like ChatGPT) and just tell it what you want to ask clients, and it builds conversational, branded forms for you.

Note: Note: These are some of the latest tools on the market, and we can’t vouch for them, so always keep your own safety in mind, make sure you understand the T&C’s and opt for free versions to test them out before making a decision.

Did You Know? In mid-November 2007, Amazon launched the Kindle e-book reader. Incidentally, that was 1 year after Nintendo released the Wii game console (2006).

Till next time,
